England's National Anthem.
Anyone who is English, is probably fed up to the back teeth when the British national anthem is played, mainly at sporting events, but probably at other events as well, instead of an anthem soley for England. Especially when we here Scotland, Wales and N.I. have their national anthems played instead of the British national anthem. Well, I have decided to promote the Hymn "Jerusalem" as England's Nathional Anthem. It's a hymn that is sung in metaphore and is about bringing the English people closer to God. It supports the idea, that while not all Christian's don't actually go to church, it is still nevertheless a fine rallying song that can unite the English people. Of course there is always those people who think another song might be better. So there is a link below to another website that has a poll so that we can see which song will be chosen by the English people. | Jerusalem By William Blake And did those feet in ancient time And did the countenance divine Bring me my bow of burning gold I will not cease from mental fight |
